On March 28, 2017 the next Open House by the Karlsruhe-based company IPG Automotive will take place. The all-day event has established itself as the meeting point for specialists in the field of virtual test driving. There will be live demonstrations of innovations from the upcoming release 6.0 of the CarMaker product family in the application areas driver assistance, powertrain and vehicle dynamics.
Karlsruhe, December 15, 2016 – Open House is an event hosted by the solution provider for virtual test driving IPG Automotive. In spring 2017, the company will present new developments from the upcoming CarMaker 6.0 release. There will be a special emphasis on new sensor models for testing automated driving functions as well as the Scenario Editor for the intuitive configuration of complex scenarios. In three sessions, each focusing on one of the application areas driver assistance, powertrain and vehicle dynamics, IPG Automotive experts will discuss current development issues and present the new simulation functions live. In addition to the presentations, there will be a trade exhibition which also provides ample space for creative exchange between industry experts.
Open House 2016 welcomed about 400 participants from vehicle development and the supplier industry as well as researchers from various fields of study who used the opportunity to learn about current developments and exchange ideas with colleagues and experts. At next year’s Open House, numerous experts from the OEM and supplier industries as well as from universities and research institutes are again expected to attend. The presentations will be in German with simultaneous interpretation into English. The participation is free of charge.
Virtual test driving is considered the solution for the increasing demands in the vehicle development process. With virtual test driving, the challenge of the steadily growing networking of systems can be met as well as the calibration and validation effort connected to this. By taking tests from the real world into the virtual world, both costs and time can be significantly reduced in the vehicle development process. The test method allows for the testing of innovations in the network of systems in the whole vehicle and in complex traffic scenarios early on by means of front-loading (automotive systems engineering).
